Breaking News: Atlassian Acquires GreenHopper

This just in from the Atlassian Summit – Atlassian Acquires GreenHopper!

This is pretty big news for those who like virtual kanban boards tied to an issue tracker. Here is the press release that will be released:

San Francisco (Business Wire) June 1, 2009 — Today Atlassian announced the acquisition of GreenHopper for JIRA from Pyxis Technologies. With over 900 customers globally, GreenHopper for JIRA adds key agile project management capabilities to JIRA, including release planning, task management and burn down charts.

Atlassian is already well known by agile software development teams for providing tools that complement agile practices, including Continuous Integration (Bamboo), Code Reviews (Crucible) and Code Coverage Analysis (Clover).

According to Mike Cannon-Brookes, Atlassian CEO and co-founder, “We want to give agile developers a seamless approach to project management within JIRA. GreenHopper is hands-down one of the best tools for agile project management and we’re thrilled to bring the product on board.”

Great Integrations

GreenHopper for JIRA is generally available with three Atlassian product offerings: JIRA, JIRA Enterprise Hosted and JIRA Studio.

The entire suite starts at nly $25/user/month.
GreenHopper can be purchased as an add-on for JIRA Enterprise Hosted and JIRA standalone software. Pricing for GreenHopper starts at $350 for a perpetual-use license.

Codesqueeze Charity Kickin – Room To Read

A BIG thanks to everyone that participated in both the Atlassian Stimulus event and then the Codesqueeze Charity Kickin. Atlassian raised a HUGE $100,000 for the charity Room To Read, and everyone that participated in the kickin raised another $345 to go towards a great charity.

I really look forward to doing this again – what a great cause!

Atlassian Summit – Are You Going?

In case you haven’t heard, this year Atlassian is premiering their first customer conference – Atlassian Summit.

Unlike some larger conferences that split developer, managers, and partners into different conferences; it appears Atlassian has choose to host a single conference with many genre tracks depending on your interests and company role.

By the looks of the summit agenda they have been hard at work preparing some good sessions.

If you are a fan, customer, or collaborator with Atlassian I think this would be a good meet up. Need another reason? Here’s 10 Reasons To Go, but personally I would go to get the heck out of Fargo and head to the coast.

PS: Still waiting for my complementary airfare, hotel, and conference pass Jon ;)

I’m Back And Ready To Rock

Just got back from ALT.NET Seattle. It was really fun to hook up and drink a few beers with old salts like Ben Scheirman and Scott Hanselman, and drink a few more beers with others I had not yet met such as Scott C. Reynolds, Alan Stevens, and Robin Clowers.

I have about 10 new pages of ideas in the ol’ moleskin, so starting next week… here we go…

Codesqueeze Gets A Facelift

The Writer’s Block Contest

Like my grandmother always says, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”. Unfortunately, my grandmother never owned a blog and never stared with blank looks at a computer screen.

Don’t worry, the official codesqueeze moleskin still has numerous post ideas in it, I am just having trouble starting the engine back up after a very nice long vacation.

Got an idea or question? Comment, Email, or Twitter it! I would love it hear some new thoughts and ideas.
